Our client is a fast growing apparel brand with a flagship store in Hong Kong. As a result of successful expansion a new opportunity now exists for a Senior Business Controller to join the organization.
You will be responsible for coordinating all the Retail business’ Leasing Development activities in Hong Kong and China markets to meet company’s short term and long term business objectives. Other duties include: Analyze market situation by mapping out competitors’ and own brand’s presence and formulate business plans and retail development strategies. Evaluate and measure the performance of existing presence to bench-mark potential retail space development and renewal of existing shop leasing. To enhance brand presence by identifying and proposing new potential locations with relevant brand mix, appropriate brand zone with anchors, and achievement of business growth targets. Review existing and new contract terms to propose terms with company’s best interest for negotiation. Monitor and keep track of contract and lease period to alert responsible function for renewal or termination. Support VP to prepare and analyze business reports to senior management and identify actionable areas for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree qualification major in Business Administration or relevant disciplines, MBA preferred.
- 10 to 15 years’ experience in the retail industry of Hong Kong and China markets, and experience in managing international brands. Living and working experience in China is highly preferred.
- Strong business acumen, with financial and commercial sense. Good knowledge in financial and management accounting and sensitive to figures.
- Strong network in the retail industry and good connections with property management companies and agencies in HK China. Strong negotiation skill.
- With an entrepreneurial mentality, and demonstrate exceptional planning, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a team player with self-initiative.
- Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese is a prerequisite.
- Well-versed in MS office applications such as Word, Excel, Power-point, Outlook etc.
