WalkerSearchGroup is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to provide analytical support regarding business applications, infrastructure and technology.

This is a contract-to-permanent hire position with an excellent Michigan company and offers excellent compensation and benefits. Consultants preferring a “contract only” relationship will also be considered.

As a valued member of the Business Intelligence community, you will serve as a liaison to help assist customers in their migration to new or revised products, applications and platforms.  You will also have an opportunity to utilize your project management skills in working with application developers and operations to help support product driven applications.

In this role you will provide analytical support regarding business applications, infrastructure and technology related activities.  You will be responsible for planning, organization and implementation of healthcare data management activities.  You will act as a key project team member, specifically in requirements definition and testing activities.  You will provide guidance, assistance, coordination and follow up on complex problems and ensure resolution.  You will assists with migration to new or revised products, applications and platforms.  You will work with application developers and operations to support production applications and customer-specific operations.  You should be able to display full understanding of current and emerging business trends.  Extensive creativity will be required across all areas of expertise. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead in the research and analysis of healthcare data to evaluate existing and potential trends/issues.

Manage and monitor multiple projects by establishing project plans and objectives to ensure goal attainment within defined parameters.

Develop communication methods for the discussion of analyses and recommendations with management.

Assist management with the implementation of solutions for identified problems/issues.

Act as a liaison between the Business Intelligence Center and assigned clients.

Create data repositories for common definitions and reporting.

Identify and resolve challenges to fulfill key corporate objectives and respond to change management demands.

Provide expertise and guidance on healthcare data to unit and corporate staff as required.

Participate in group/committee discussions and attend client meetings.

Participate in ongoing data validation to ensure data integrity and reliability.

Maintain an excellent understanding of requirements determination, data organizational structures, testing approaches, report design and development, relevant healthcare issues and industry initiatives.

Maintain a strong understanding of proprietary business, products, programs (including provider data, networks, etc.), corporate organizational structure, complex research principles/methodologies.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare, Information Systems, Statistics or other related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.

Six (6) or more years of experience in related field required.

QUALIFICATIONS

3 +  years business analysis experience necessary to work directly with business area customers, manage the customer relationships and gather information and design solution as well as development and query skills to obtain data and build reports.

5 + years experience in data analysis/business analysis – interviewing for requirements, analysis of existing data source content, develop design document to build reports, build queries to extract data, compile data according to specifications, map to report templates, test the data, and conduct analysis and final reporting.

5 + years experience with relational databases and entity relationship models.

1 + years experience with healthcare claims data and experience in healthcare reporting.

1 + years experience in a data warehouse environment with a basic understanding of ETL and source to target mappings.

3 + years experience managing and creating current and future state diagrams, report layouts and data mappings.

The ability to write SQL (or other similar languages) scripts to load data into target databases, write complex queries, etc. is preferred.

Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.

Excellent documentation skills: MS Word, MS Visio, MS Excel.

“Self starter” able to work with minimal supervision and expressed guidelines.

Ability to interface with employees at all levels including senior leadership.

Highly proficient in data languages (i.e. SAS, SQL preferred) and industry standard PC applications (i.e. Excel, Access)

Possess skills to perform as a team lead for specific projects and/or staff members
