JOB OVERVIEW: 
MasterCard Worldwide is a global payments provider leading the industry in the advancement of contactless payments by shifting the share of payments away from cash to credit, debit and prepaid card products.  The Senior Business Leader Product Management, Global PayPass Solutions is a significant contributor to MasterCard’s global strategic plan to enable acceptance and capture processing share with an initial focus in the transit environment. 

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Develops product strategies and roadmaps to execute to ensure maximum penetration of market segments.
• Manages and maintains existing product lines on an on-going basis, including vendor management and product lifecycle.
• Conducts opportunity assessments on new ideas and concepts.
• Be an industry expert to determine new needs and innovations that MasterCard may want to investigate
• Monitors performance and manages partner relationships
• Develop and implement programs and initiatives using the Go-To-Market process
• Responsible for evaluating and applying market research and directing opportunity assessments on new ideas and concepts and communicating them to Product Development
• Direct coordination with Product Development and vendors to develop strategy and enhancements of product offerings
• Build relationships with customer groups to garner feedback for development of MasterCard products
• Lead department in development and completion of objectives and assess management staff against established measures

INITIAL RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Execute the Global Transit Strategy,
• Management of the MasterCard Transit Solutions – Oversee the product management of MasterCard Transit solutions using a Life Cycle Management approach.  The candidate will be responsible for the licensing, commercial development and legal discussions surrounding the products.  As is required, represent the product at the various MasterCard internal decision making bodies (i.e. policy and pricing).
• Work with regional transit leads to educate and influence customers - Update (as required) and deliver the external transit education program to educate and influence transit agencies, vendors, acquirers, and issuers about all of the MasterCard Transit product solutions. 
• Contribute to successful Licensing negotiations key MasterCard solutions - Work with Regional leads to execute licenses with key vendors.
• Provide training and expertise to MasterCard staff - Update (as required) and deliver as a “train the trainer” to internal MasterCard teams including the account teams, commerce development, product delivery and expert sales teams about all of the MasterCard Transit product solutions. 
• Define transaction models - Work with MasterCard’s regional personnel to pursue global opportunities within transit by using our five MasterCard transit solutions along with other MasterCard assets and core functions to develop transaction models to meet the needs in the local markets.
• Oversee the creation of operational plans - Work with internal resources to document the implementation processes (process implementation maps) and validate the processes.  Overseeing the MasterCard’s Transit Solution implementations, testing, and operations for licensed vendors and merchants.  This role will have two primary functions:
1. developing processes that are repeatable and extensible
2. providing hands on support; implementing the initial opportunities to validate these process 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
The focus of the job will be on implementing the necessary processes for MasterCard branded PayPass solutions.  The ideal candidate will have:
• It is critical that this candidate have an operational understanding of payments and MasterCard processes and technologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, project management and matrix-management skills are critical. 
• Strong knowledge of system analysis, applications development and large-scale deployments. 
• Ability to mix technical knowledge with practical real world transit experience to bridge between business and technology.
• Ability to influence internal and external business partners
• A proven track record providing product expertise and or training to both internal and external customers
• An understanding of EMV technology and contactless payment (ideally PayPass)
• It is desirable, but not required to have experience with Mass transit Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems
• Ability to effectively direct and manage multiple functions
• Business Acumen with the ability to provide solutions that drive positive results to the customer and MasterCard

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree required advanced degree desirable.

EXPERIENCE:
• 10 years product management experience in the payments industry. 
• At least 5 years of management experience desirable.
