Senior Buyer

We are searching for a seasoned Senior level Purchasing Agent to complete our Operations team. This position will report to the Purchasing Manager, and will be responsible for the following. You will be expected to be very hands-on in this casual but dynamic work environment.
Summary:
This position is responsible for the purchasing of precision CNC machine components, large weldments and sheet metal assemblies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Request for Quotes Purchase Orders to the Supply Base
- KPI Metrics– Supplier performance, on time delivery, quality and cost reduction
- Rough cut capacity analysis
- Total Acquisition cost
- Travel as required, approximately 10-15 % of time; some international travel may be required
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Related Experience:
- Minimum 6-10 years purchasing manufacturing experience
- Strong analytical problem solving ability is important
- Capable of multi-tasking
- Good understanding of machine shop sheet metal manufacturing technology
- Experience in and general knowledge of lean manufacturing and MRP II concepts
- Experience working in an enterprise system purchasing module processing requests for quotes, issuing purchase orders, blanket orders and performance metrics
- Demonstrated experience in the accountability measurable impact on company performance
- Experience in price negotiations, economics and determining total acquisition cost
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and email
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- Ability to read mechanical drawings
- Solid organizational skills, time quality management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal written
- A professional appearance and an assertive personality

- Must be able to sit for periods of time
- Repetitive motion (typing, computer mouse)
Non-Essential Job Duties:
- Nothing apart from above - must be able to work at a computer
