Senior Buyer Job in Dublin
Overview:
MNC located in Dublin, currently enjoying a period of substantial growth, has 3-4 senior buyer/planner vacancies. Due to the key requirements of these roles, only candidates that have supplier management / account manager in addition to stereotypical buyer-planner / operational buying duties will be contacted.
Role Responsibilities:
* Day-to-day Operational Buying: Purchase order release, confirmation and administration, expedition, resolving of inbound discrepancies, maintenance of ERP parameters to ensure data quality and reliability, price and lead time updates
* Optimization of the operational purchasing process and ensuring that the correct parts are delivered and available on time
* Provision of a monthly rolling purchase forecast to the supplier at regular intervals so that capacity may be guaranteed for supply whilst at the same time reducing lead time for stocking strategic items
* Working with suppliers to ensure that they meet mutually agreed KPIs in terms of delivery accuracy, lead time consistency (and reduction where applicable) and the elimination of overdue orders from the supplier using a scorecard methodology.
* Liaising with internal (planning, order management, sourcing, pricing, finance) and external customers (suppliers, freight and warehousing)
* Develop, maintain and improve excellent relationships with new and existing suppliers via phone email or face to face meetings, both from a financial and business perspective
* Reporting regularly to category leaders and the European Procurement Manager
Skills Experience
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
Proven track record in strengthening and improving both supplier relationships and increasing their productivity
* Circa 5 years' experience comprised of both operational buying and supplier management (buyer/planner with account management experience)
* Experience in creating and implementing supplier performance metrics a distinct advantage
* Outstanding communication skills with the ability to forge strong relationships quickly and to indirectly influence situations where change is being implemented
* MNC / global sector experience with demonstrated capability of working with a matrix organization
* Customer oriented and focused
Base Salary: €35 - €40k.
Pension: Employer matches up to 5%
This is an initial 6 month contract with a view to permanency on successful completion of the contract
