SGI has a Senior Buyer/Planner opportunity available in Chippewa Falls, WI.
Responsibilities/Unique Conditions:
Must be able to develop and manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts. Must be able to work with engineering groups, both internal and external to SGI, effectively. Must be able to have an understanding of the market place and the effect the market has on the commodities responsible for managing. Must be able to perform price and cost evaluations. Will be responsible for controlling inventory levels, supplier performance, parts availability and costs in a high tech, fast paced environment. Must have excellent written and verbal skills and be able to communicate with people at many different job levels and responsibilities. Will provide leadership in supplier or component selection and/or qualification. Will be focal point between SGI and supply base. Will manage all areas of problem resolution with suppliers, including financial discrepancies, material discrepancies, transportation, returns and credit issuance. Will actively manage excess and obsolete inventory to mitigate SGI risk and cost. Must work well in both an individual contributors role and team environment. Must be self motivated and require little over sight. Unique conditions: Some travel may be required. May be international as well as domestic.
Education and/or Equivalent Experience (including tech. and non-tech. capabilities):
4 year degree in Business or Materials related field and/or minimum of 4 years experience in a related field. Must have working knowledge of an MRP system. Must have working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Oracle 11i experience is a plus.
