Senior Childrens Sweater Designer
Description Senior Children's Designer Manages and develops private label apparel design and artwork for children's sweaters. Executes according to the strategic merchandise plan. Develops strong customer service and working relationships with the Buyers, other employees within the Product Development Team and external service partners. Continually researches color and trend information. Communicates a compelling vision. Travels domestically and overseas to shop fashion trends and attend print and fabric shows. Develops concept boards, sketch library, designs artwork and selects standards using trend and color services. Selects and purchases original artwork and negotiates pricing. Selects, negotiates, manages and evaluates in-house freelance services. Ensures deadlines are met. Inspires, direct and develops direct reports. Degree in Fashion Design preferred. No less then 7-10 years of apparel design experience, and no less then 2-4 years of management experience. Prefer a background in children's, must have experience in sweaters. Previous international business travel a must. Must be highly detail oriented, organized, the ability to set standards and execute, as well as having a strong sense of priority and follow through skills. Very strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong sense of fashion, trends, design and construction. Ability to work in a team driven atmosphere with the ability to flex to personality styles and build strong working relationships internally and externally. Previous working experience with trend/color/concept services. Strong sketching skills, as well as PC skills including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are a must. What's In It For You?
