Senior CICS, COBOL Programmer/Analyst Job in Ottawa/Gatineau, Ontario Canada
Eagle is currently seeking one (1) Senior CICS, COBOL Programmer/Analyst. This contract opportunity is slated to begin in May, and is projected to be twelve (12) months in length.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing development and maintenance on a suite of in-house developed applications;
- Work closely with clients;
- Providing analysis, coding, testing and documentation services; and,
- Preparing software packages and instructions for migration to the production environment.
Skills and Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
- Experience coding in CICS/COBOL
- Experience coding embedded SQL to access a relational RDBMS;
- Experience with DB2 stored procedures;
- Experience in coding embedded Z/OS MQSeries;
- Good knowledge of TSO, ISPF and proficiency in JCL and other IBM utilities;
- Strong knowledge of, and exposure to, IT application development in an insurance or financial environment;
- Experience working in a team environment
- A valid Enhanced Reliability security clearance;
- Experience coding in the VB.NET environment;
- Experience using Microsoft Visual SourceSafe;
- Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server;
- Application development lifecycle methodology;
- Experience preparing technical documentation;
- Analytical and technical skills; and,
- Excellent communication skills in English written and verbal (an asset if in both official languages).
