My client and your new employer is one of Australia’s largest and most highly experienced building and civil engineering contractors having undertaken some of Australia’s most significant and prominent road, rail, industrial and infrastructure projects across Australia.
Due to ongoing expansion they have an urgent need for experienced senior Civil Estimators to join their team in their Brisbane offices.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Utilising your extensive experience and professional knowledge to assist with tender preparations
- Participate in the selection of projects to be tendered
- Review tender documents for scope of works, contract requirements and alternative design options
- Oversee and assist with the acquiring of subcontractor quotations
- Visit site to discuss proposed work methods with Senior Project Managers
- Oversee the preparation, checking and measuring of schedules and bill of quantities
Your background will include :
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience with an Australian contractor
- Clear and demonstrable evidence in your career to date of having been successfully involved in the tendering of major infrastructure projects of a value no less than $100m.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and Buildsoft
- The ability to both lead and mentor a team of highly skilled professionals
