Title: Senior Cloud Software Developer

Location: McLean, VA

Responsibilities

Be part of a team that develops and delivers cutting edge cloud enabled GEOINT analytics to defense and intelligence analysts.  You will be challenged to develop capabilities that tackle analytical challenges that require large data and/or complex algorithm development using distributed programming techniques in a cloud computing framework.  Our client is postured to fundamentally change the way analysts interact with and utilize GEOINT analytics, here is your chance to be part of this effort before it becomes common place.  Serve as a software engineer/developer to work in an agile and fast paced development environment supporting analysts whose mission is to solve unique and challenging geospatial problems.

•              Integration and subsequent refinement of geospatial analytic application widgets

•              Retrieval and ingest geospatial data into conventional and “cloud based” storage systems

•              Development and maintenance of task and process automation scripts.

•              Work with clients to clarify requirements and ensure that project design meets clients business and technical requirements. 

•              Analyze, design, develop debug web-enabled applications

 

Experience

10+ years experience including minimum of 5 years software development

2+ years experience in design and implementation of web applications

2+ years in scripting (preferably Python Ruby and or Java Script).  Previous senior-level experience in design and developing complex systems.

Project development/methodologies experience preferred:  full system development lifecycle, Agile, Scrum, etc.

 

 

Computer Environment   

•              Familiarity with the Ozone Widget Framework (OWF).

•              Web development: HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash/Flex, Experience with SQL, Oracle (PL/SQL), or PostgreSQL.

•              Experience with Hadoop and MapReduce.

•              Experience using ESRI products such as ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server (SDE), etc.

•              Experience with open source geospatial libraries such as GDAL, OGR, GeoServer, Degree.

•              Familiarity with OGS standards, WPS, WMS, WCS. Experience with geospatial data and the devlopment of geospatially based analytical models.

•              Experience building Linux shell scripts

 

 

Education:  B.A., B.S. preferred or equivalent work experience
