Senior Commercial Banking Assistant
In this dynamic role while working at our Creve Coeur, MO office, your primary responsibilities will include creating and maintaining credit and legal files for the department within Bank policy and standards. You will assist commercial lenders in the booking of loans, including preparation of Loan Input Worksheets; inputting customer information for new borrowers and guarantors; and copying documents for credit files as well as sending original documents to Loan Servicing. Additionally, you will assist commercial lenders in the review of documents received from Loan Servicing; process loan payments, fees, disbursements and advances; assist commercial lenders in the tracking and maintenance of financial reports and covenants. Your primary responsibilities will also include performing the following duties:
- Open appropriate operating accounts for customers by loading information into appropriate bank systems; prepare signature cards, bank resolutions and other bank agreements as required
- Follow up with customers to ensure services are set up in a timely manner, without audit or compliance concerns
- Process internal fund transfers and outgoing wire transfers according to bank procedures; other customer service functions to include but not limited to stop payments, ordering checks and answering phones
- Assist a commercial lending unit in the management of overdrafts, delinquencies, operational and loan losses within bank guidelines
- May be required to perform other duties within the department
We are seeking talented individuals with the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, some college preferred
- Previous customer service experience with a minimum 3-5 years commercial or consumer loan experience preferred
- PC proficiency in a Windows environment including Word and Excel is required; PowerPoint experience a plus
- An understanding of commercial loan products, deposit products, as well as other bank products and services preferred
- Should be a self-starter along with an ability to work as a member of a team
- Preferred qualities also include: a confidence to speak with clients regarding day-to-day issues and concerns; an ability to coordinate loan closings and a familiarity with loan documents, operations and systems; a knowledge of Cash Management functions; and able to draft simple letters
