Senior Commercial Manager - (Utilities) - Civil Engineering
Salary: Circa £70-80k base + Bonus + Health + Pension + Car

THE BUSINESS
* With locations around the country, Mackenzie Stuart is currently working on behalf of a leading multi disciplinary main contractor undertaking various infrastructure Projects in the UK; these include highways, rail, utilities and environmental waste.
* The Senior Commercial Manager appointment will be the face of the business working on various gas and water projects valuing between £20-40m in size.

THE ROLE
* Be the face of the business commercially adding to the company's bottom line. This appointment is extremely important because you will be spearheading the company's growth aspirations into the Scottish gas and water sectors.
* Expertise in contract formulation, ideally with a track record working with clients including Scottish and Southern Energy, SGN and Scottish Water.
* Be the commercial lead for Scotland overseeing all gas and water major frameworks, mainly focusing on RM work.
* Liaise with project support functions such as finance, supply chain, risk and ensure an all round commercial service is maintained.
* Management of reporting including all periodic reporting functions, cost and value and have an excellent understanding of using Excel spreadsheets.
* Ensure that adequate records are maintained in respect of project issues and commercial management processes across gas and water divisions.
* Supporting the senior commercial team, ensuring variances between planned budget expenditure and incurred costs are identified and appropriate action taken to minimise costs and liabilities.
* Team leader to the commercial team encompassing of Quantity Surveyors, Estimators, Buyers, Cost Clerks, Supply Chain Manager and Planners
* Ensure insurance issues are managed in accordance with procedures.

KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Willingness to collaborate and work with other contract partners and clients.
* Track record of delivering against commercial targets to the value £20m.
* Experience of working in a multitude of commercial models.
* Ability to demonstrate solid leadership skills in the utilities sector mainly working on gas contracts.
* Commercial business acumen - able to demonstrate significant improvements in efficiencies/ costs in previous roles.
