Senior Communications Advisor - Retail Bank

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Communications for the Retail Bank (RBS), you will support in driving the reputational outcomes for one of CBA's core operational businesses. You will support with strategic development and implementation of the internal and external communications functions as well as the coordination and integration of communications as well as issues management strategies through to Group level and with other business units.
In addition, you will be responsible for the following -
- Develop expertise in all aspects of internal and external communications, including CBA's integrated framework for ensuring consistent communications strategies across the Group and within the Business Units, and apply this understanding to assist leaders to achieve their objectives within the Retail Bank
- Provide advice, guidance and recommendations to the Executive Manager Public Affairs and Communications Retail Bank on all matters relating to the Business Unit's internal and external communications strategy
- Prepare issue and crisis management communications for both internal and external audiences of RBS, including the development of key messaging, providing strategic advice to senior representatives at Group level and content for the Group Executive communication;
- Work collaboratively with the Group Communications Team, to ensure the integration and coordination of consistent communications strategies across each business unit and delivery of consistent messaging across the organisation;
To be successful, you will come with the following -
- Significant demonstrated experience in a similar management role within a listed, issues rich and highly regulated environment managing business communications strategy and implementation;
- Track record in developing, implementing and measuring integrated and coordinated communications strategies, including all aspects of internal and external communication including 'best practice' channel innovation and social media programs;
- Proven ability to develop, manage and maintain communication plans and associated budgetary and resource requirements;
- Demonstrated strong media relations experience, sound financial communication capabilities and established networks across media and business;
- Enthusiastic, and experienced in leading and motivating large teams within complex business environments;
- Strong organisational skills, including a demonstrated ability to plan and manage resources;
- High-level conceptual and analytical skills, evident business acumen and exceptional verbal and written communication capability;
- Strong people skills, high level self-awareness and a passion for achieving outstanding team
