Senior Communications and Public Relations Manager – Macquarie Investment Management recruitment
Macquarie Funds Group (MFG) is Macquarie Group's funds management business. Macquarie Investment Management (MIM) offers securities investment management capabilities across a number of asset classes including fixed interest, currencies, equities, infrastructure securities, private markets, hedge funds and multi-asset allocation solutions. It delivers a full-service offering to both institutional and retail clients in Australia and the US, with selective offerings in other regions
This is a newly created role which presents an opportunity to join a highly successful business and shape the public relations and communication strategies for Macquarie Investment Management's B2B and B2C segments in Australia. You will own the content strategy for MIM's flagship communication assets and thought leadership program.
Your responsibilities will include:
Communication Strategy:
- Ownership and responsibility for the development of the communication strategy for each segment for MIM Australia
- Develop and manage the implementation of segment communication plans - develop key messaging, write and review content
- Plan content strategy for flagship communication assets and thought leadership pieces including quarterly fund presentations, monthly emails, monthly insight pieces
- Take a leadership role in fund messaging and ensure that delivery is consistent across MIM
- Identify innovative and industry leading communications solutions in line with business objectives
Public Relations Strategy:
- Develop strategies for proactive PR and media campaigns - identifying target publications and a program for communications with key MIM media personalities
- Build relationships with key journalists to execute strategy and ensure MIM stays front of mind for comment
- Ensure swift and professional reactive responses to issues management
Leadership and coaching:
- Take a leading role within the broader business regarding communication and messaging
- Coach junior team members and assist with development
Required Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications preferably in Marketing/Communications and Finance
- Prior experience in a senior role, 7 + years financial services marketing communications experience, preferably in funds management
- Strong existing relationships with journalists preferred
- Ability to build strong working relationships and manage internal and external stakeholders effectively
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, stay abreast of industry trends in funds management and broader marketing, and introduce industry leading ideas and practices to a team
- Depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in effective communications across all mediums
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Strong planning and organising plus project management skills
- Focussed on delivery within tight timelines, ensuring quality output and demonstrating excellent attention to detail
