General Summary:
The position of Sr. Compensation analyst reports to the Vice President of Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, and Payroll and is responsible for day-to-day compensation functions associated with base salary administration and annual bonus plan administration. The successful candidate will be joining a team that puts emphasis on critical thinking and quantitative analysis. Moreover, the successful candidate will have a client-service orientation when dealing with their key clients - HR Generalists, Recruiters, and the Finance Department.

Essential Job Functions:

1.     Provide data-driven ad-hoc pay recommendations for new hires, promotions, and transferring employees.

2.     Survey submission; researching and recommending survey participation and purchase

3.     Evaluate existing and proposed jobs to:

a.     Revise or create job descriptions;

b.     Assign jobs to grades / bands

c.     Assess compa-ratios and market position

d.     Recommend FLSA exemption status

4.     Serve as lead in the Company’s annual focal merit pay processing project

5.     Maintain employee eligibility records and documentation for the annual management bonus program

6.     Liaison with Finance Department for monthly accounting of annual management bonus program

7.     Work with HR Generalists and managers to prepare recommendations for new or revised bonus programs

8.     Assure through audits, reports, and personal contact that Company’s compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with Company policies and government regulations

9.     Analyze the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures

10.   Conduct annual salary evaluations using industry research, benchmarks, market rates, and job evaluations. Maintain and modify compensation structures to ensure responsiveness to business or market changes

11.   Provide recommendations on annual merit increase budget

12.   Answer associate questions regarding policies and procedures

Supportive Job Functions:

1.     Meet with business managers to determine for needs analysis

2.     Maintain the job code table and other related tables in the HRIS system

3.     Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management

4.     Follow Company policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

1.     Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities that allow the candidate to identify the key points for decision making

2.     Financial analysis and spreadsheet modeling of compensation plans (salary and bonus programs) ; High-level proficiency in Excel

3.     Time management, project management, presentation, organization and planning skills

4.     Clarity in communicating technical topics

5.     Consultative and client-service orientation; ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the company

6.     Ability to maintain confidentiality is critical

7.     Knowledge of government regulations as applicable to compensation programs and Company policies and operations.

8.     General knowledge of HR principles and practices

Education, Experience, and Certification:

1.  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Human Resources, or equivalent required

2.  Minimum of 5 years experience with in-house compensation, or as a consultant

3.  Familiarity with HRIS / HRMS;

4. Experience with query tools such as Reportsmith and/or ADP Reporter a plus

5.  Financial analyst experience a plus
