A unique career opportunity has arisen with our clients who are a leading, global manufacturer of industrial diesel engines.
The UK based Emissions Regulations Conformance (ERC) Team are part of our clients ERC organisation and are responsible for all applicable engine exhaust emissions certification and ongoing conformance monitoring for all their products worldwide.
Based in Peterborough the successful Senior Compliance Engineer will have the important job to manage all aspects of ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements regarding Conformity of Production Auditing (mainly US EU), and US Defect Reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities of a Senior Compliance Engineer:
Ensuring adherence to mandatory global Conformity of Production (CoP) requirements (EU, India, China etc) and US EPA (Environmental protection Agency) Marine Production Line Test (PLT) Auditing, including:-
- Calculating number and type of engines to be tested
- Liaison with Current Product Performance Emissions, and Platform Teams, responsible for engine procurement, engine facility preparation, and performance of CoP/PLT testing
- Analysis of CoP PLT test results, then identifying and communicating appropriate next steps
- Preparation submission of quarterly annual PLT reports to US EPA
Manage internal US EPA Defect Reporting process in close collaboration with Product Health and Continuous Product Improvement Teams, including: -
- Monitoring reporting of relevant warranty data (ensuring that this is being done)
- Tracking of potential Defect Reportable issues (component/system failures in the field population)
- Preparation and submission of resulting Defect Investigation Notifications and Defect Reports to US EPA and CARB, including any required follow up activities to ensure effectiveness of remedial actions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required of a Senior Compliance Engineer:
- Ability to review and assimilate large amounts of information effectively (e.g. emissions regulations)
- Ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously within challenging deadlines
- Ability to interface with multi-disciplinary teams to meet clear project objectives
Desirable:
- Awareness of Quality Control Methods
- Some experience working with Minitab software
