Senior Compliance Officer, EMEA and Asia

Our client is a global investment bank that was founded by a Wall Street veteran and a number of his partners in 2007. The team sought to create a partnership that offered a better way of investment banking, with a focus on long-term client relationships.

The bank now has 600 staff globally and 100 in London based in The City. The bank is doing excellently and has tripled in size in the last 18 months. They have offices in NY (350 staff), London (100 staff), HK (20 staff), Dubai (13 staff), Mumbai (8 staff) and representative offices in France and Germany.

Inline with expansion, the bank has an opportunity for a Compliance Officer, EMEA and Asia. The role holder will report into the General Counsel and Head of Compliance/MLRO who is based in London. You will also have managerial responsibility for a compliance administrator in the team. This is London based role with some, though minimal, overseas travel.

The role is very broad reaching and covers a full range of compliance and AML duties including providing regulatory advice and guidance to the business, enhancing and developing regulatory policies and procedures, conducting bespoke compliance/AML training, carrying out risk based monitoring, ensuring financial crime prevention and so forth.

The GC/HOC is fantastic and he will be an excellent person to work with and to learn from. He has been at Moelis Company for 4 years and prior to this he headed up IB at UBS having qualified at a magic circle law firm. He is looking to recruit top talent from the external market and he will be providing lots of advice and guidance to the new recruit to help take their compliance career to the next level.
