Senior Consultant, Change Management x2

Job description:

Responsible for the execution of all change projects for the supported business function; with the application of a standard methodology, reporting and governance for all change projects, Oversees projects and/or initiatives. Operates independently. Has in-depth knowledge of business unit/ function.

Skills:

Demonstrates strong knowledge of the business function and Northern’s product offering including the functions process, policies and systems. Strong experience in change management principals and methodologies, including project management approaches, tools and phases of lifecycles.

Requires strong planning, conceptual consulting and communication (both oral and written) skills; including analytical ability, strong judgment and project management skills. Must have strong leadership, negotiation and conflict management skills.

Essential skills required

• Significant OTC Derivative experience (preferably multi-asset class) either from a Change Management or  Operations perspective.

• Ability to work under time and client pressure.

• Adaptable to regular change.

• Excellent Attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Preferred (but not essential) skills required

• Knowledge of Summit / MTM / DTCC / Markitwire / Misys CMS market utilities

• Experience of both the Sell-side and Buy-side communities

• Understanding of Custodian / Operations Outsourcing and Fund Accounting business

Major dutes:

1. Be seen as a key advisor and leader providing comprehensive execution servicing and solutions at the highest technical level. Have in-depth knowledge of the business, industry and is highly skilled in Business Process Analysis and/or Project Management. Carries out activities that are broad in scope, complex, technically difficult and may span business functions.

2. Proactively collaborates and communicates with partner groups, in particular the supported business function and the Change Management Consultancy and IT. Develops good working relations. Consistently uses effective strategies and interpersonal styles to influence and guide others toward the accomplishment of identified objectives.

3. Deliver required artifacts supporting schedule development, project planning, budget management, stakeholder management, quality assurance and scope/requirements management.

4. Maintain project communication internally/externally; ensure management is aware of status/issues/risks. Monitor spend-to-forecast to approved budget and report variance.

5. Accountable for the application of the Change Management approach/methodology, reporting and governance model across all change initiatives.

6. Work closely with the Change Management Consultant and Sponsor to understand the business objective and scope of the work. Conduct process analysis of assigned activity, utilize appropriate business tools and provide comprehensive documentation of the as-is and future states with all supporting documentation, stored in the appropriate location.

7. Elicits and defines the supported business functions change requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, use cases etc.

8. Analyzes information needs and functional requirements and delivers the required documentation as needed: (Functional requirements, use cases, GUI screen and interface designs).

9. Plans, analyzes, and presents the stakeholder requirements with internal IT teams and external vendors. Identifies gaps and shortcomings in solutions and builds long term relationships with technology teams.

10. Identify the types of testing required as per the applicable project methodologies. Create comprehensive test material as required to thoroughly test all components of the solution.

11. Facilitate, co-ordinate, and where appropriate execute all testing required, ensuring Stakeholders and end users are sufficiently prepared and engaged in appropriate testing cycles. Document, track and work to resolve any issues/defects.

12. Complete and deploy all implementation tasks that may include new workflows, procedures, training plans and BCP consideration.

Experience:

Requires a college or university degree and/or relevant proven work experience, and strong leadership that provides knowledge and skills to the functional business. Demonstrates strong experience in change initiatives, covering such areas as operations, IT and product development; with a track record of accomplishment in large projects and initiatives.
