Our Corporate Value Advisory (CVA) group helps clients to understand and model the value implications of growth and restructuring decisions, investment choices and commercial negotiations by providing advice around the value of businesses, equity instruments and options. Our Sydney team is seeking to recruit a Senior Consultant with a strong quantitative background and interest in finance to work on a broad diversity of assignments with a well established and high profile client portfolio. The CVA service offering includes:
- Valuations of options and other equity based instruments as part of management incentive plans;
- Strategic and compliance-based valuations;
- Independent Expert Reports (or Fairness Opinions) for shareholders;
- IFRS-related valuation work including purchase price allocations, employee share options and impairment testing;
- General corporate finance advice including capital structure and pre-deal valuations.
This opportunity will see you join a well established and forward thinking team of experts who will assist you build your technical skill set and knowledge of the Valuations market. Your primary focus as a Senior Consultant will be to ensure the highest level of service delivery on all engagements. Responsibilities will include:
- Design and development of financial models;
- Utilisation of advanced quantitative techniques such as Monte Carlo simulation and options pricing;
- Valuation research including comparable company, industry and market analysis;
- Assisting formulate and deliver client reports and recommendations.
The successful candidate will be highly analytical, have exceptional problem solving skills and an astute commercial mindset. You will be able to confidently communicate with a broad range of stakeholders and work effectively as part of a team in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. To be successful in the role you will need a commerce degree (majoring in accounting and finance), or a degree in financial maths or finance (Hons) with strong results. Experience in or exposure to financial modelling will be an advantage. A desire to complete further study, such as the CA, Finsia or CFA will also be highly regarded.
