Key Accountabilities:
Responsible, at a senior level, for working with all of the Channel Strategy business (specifically eChannels and Sales Effectiveness Distribution Strategy) to identify and consult on critical success factors which influence the bottom line. Provides timely, factual information and analysis directly to the Director of Channel Strategy Finance Business Support and to business contacts at a variety of levels, making recommendations and suggesting possible consequences of proposed actions. Involved in strategic, financial and operational planning for eChannels and Sales Effectiveness Distribution Strategy.

Major Activities:
1. Provide authoritative and conceptual analysis, interpretation and opinion to support and guide senior and executive management in the development and implementation of strategic business plans / objectives
• Evaluate financial statistical and economic criteria of annual and long-range corporate plans
• Provides financial and economic analysis on proposed investments, new product introduction, operating profit plans and capital expenditures.
• Provide factual analysis and interpretation of current and historical performance trends and customer satisfaction results to management for the monthly Performance Review process
• Analyze, support and evaluate the strategic initiatives and projects for the business unit
2. Provides recommendations towards enhancing business unit functional performance.
• Liaises with business heads, anticipating the impact of internal and external factors and trends on overall profitability, return on investment, and future growth.
• Evaluates business unit performance, ensuring that business objectives are being met, highlighting strengths and weaknesses and identifying causes of under performance.
3. Identifies key information needs and develops/institutes appropriate data collection routines, analytical procedures and reporting requirements/formats.
• Develops programs for modeling and monitoring the performance of various business units.
• Participates in the analysis of performance by business unit, often aggregating results into larger reporting units.
• Ensures that all financial reports are produced in a manner to meet the operating unit’s requirements and the needs of senior management.
• Responsible for coordinating a consolidated view of planning/reporting documents for Channel Strategy Senior Executives
• Participate in the business planning process
• Monitor and provide analysis of trends in operating expenses and budget variances
• Support the financial control processes for the business unit
• Co-ordinate financial deliverables with Retial Markets Finance and other key areas as required
4. Consult with internal staff on financial matters

5. Establish partnerships with key stakeholders across Retail Distribution and Channel Strategy and extending into Retail Markets

Requirements:
Knowledge / Business Tools:
• Equivalent to a University degree in Business/Accounting and/or a professional designation required (e.g. CA, CMA, CGA, CFA). A post graduate business degree would be beneficial.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and organizational structure.
• Business planning, budgeting and management reporting experience is required.
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability
• Database knowledge and/or management is preferred Excel/Essbase/EBI skills are essential
• Advanced skills with Powerpoint and / or other presentation applications are essential
• Advanced knowledge of planning, costing and/or analytical procedures and techniques.

Must Haves:
• Business planning, budgeting and management reporting experience
• Excel/Access/Essbase skills
• Advanced knowledge of planning, costing and/or analytical procedures and techniques

Nice to Have:
• CA, CMA, CGA, CFA
• MS SQL (Structured Query Language)
• Canadian Securities Course or brokerage industry experience
