Job Description
- Daily oversight of Singapore Securities (Trade), Foreign Exchange / Money Market and Cash Processing
- Primary contacts for queries and escalation from internal partners
- Review processing error, identify root cause and any mitigating steps/controls that can be implemented to reduce or eliminate the chance of reoccurrence
- Support ‘priority’ processing tasks in the event of invocation of business continuity plan
- Monitor ongoing performance of both Bangalore Processing Team (Back Office) and Singapore Middle Office
- Ensure compliance with the guidelines on outsourcing, regulatory agreements, service level agreements and internal procedures / policies
- MIS Metrics Reporting
Major Duties
- Provide day to day management of the remaining processing functions being supported by the middle office staff in Singapore, including oversight of their duties. coordination/prioritisation of their workload and act as a bench /backup during volume surges, absenteeism and business continuity plans
- Setting relevant performance objectives for the Singapore Middle Office support staff. Measure and review performance on a six monthly basis and realign/ amend objectives where applicable
- Provide a point of daily escalation for the Singapore Middle Office, Bangalore Securities (Trade), Foreign Exchange and Cash Processing Back-Office and internal partners. Develops periodic goals, provides leadership, organizes work, assigns tasks, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of work
- Monitor and review the Bangalore Securities (Trade), Foreign Exchange / Money Market and Cash Processing Team’s performance via the production of monthly KPI and KRI metrics and to the agreed Service Level Agreement on a six monthly basis. Agree required action plan and time scales to resolve any Service Level Agreement or regulatory breaches
- Maintain and periodically test the Singapore Middle Office and Bangalore Securities (Trade), Foreign Exchange / Money Market and Cash Processing Team’s business continuity plans
- Maintain risk management and ensure compliance with guidelines on outsourcing, regulatory agreements, internal policies and procedures
Knowledge/Skills
- Possess knowledge of financial industry operations / local regulatory requirement and ‘hands on’ experience of securities, foreign exchange, money market and cash processing functions is required to monitor exceptions and ensure proper controls and compliance
- Able to effectively prioritise and manage issues for resolution within a short turn-around time and take the lead as a master of situation
- Analytical skills are required to research and resolve inquiries
- Demonstrate effective communication/people skills, be able to effectively prioritise and manage issues for resolution, be able to multi-task coordinate/organise Team’s duties and responsibilities
- Willing to learn from sub-ordinates / co-workers and works with minimum supervision
Experience
- 10 years and above in a financial industry operations environment
- ‘Hands On’ job required
- Working Hours: 10.00 am to 7.00 pm
- Overtime Required
- Working Business Days: Monday to Friday
- Working on Public Holidays : Rotation Basis with the Team
