RISKMETRICS HEDGEPLATFORM OVERVIEW:
Many of the leading hedge fund allocators use RiskMetrics HedgePlatform as an integral component of their investment processes. Because position-level detail is not revealed, hedge funds maintain their investment edge while investors are able to perform robust due diligence, monitoring, portfolio construction, and risk management. 1) HedgePlatform collects holdings data of hedge funds, in most cases directly from administrators; 2) the positions are modeled in the state-of-the-art RiskMetrics system; 3) investors analyze funds, individually and in aggregate, using interactive web-based tools as well as value-added reports.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
- HedgePlatform specialists are responsible for maintaining and growing existing client relationships for all EMEA investor clients utilizing analytics derived from the database of HedgePlatform hedge funds. Specialists will work closely with the sales team to achieve common commercial and client relationship/servicing objectives.
- The specialist pro-actively manages the client relationship and ensures a high level of client experience and satisfaction. The objective is to ensure the client fully benefits from their subscription, which is achieved by developing a high-level understanding of the client needs and creating value as a Trusted Advisor. The consultant ensures the client maximizes the value of the products they have subscribed to and identifies additional products that could further benefit the client in their investment and risk management process.
- This role is a highly visible one, with involvement in all aspects of an account including senior level relationship management, product demonstrations, user training and education, and client experience enhancing activities such as presenting at client workshops, seminars, and webinars. The client base ranges drastically in terms of sophistication and available resources, and information often needs to be compiled and pushed out to the client. In this role, individuals will work very closely with sales, global client service, marketing, research and product management.
- The HedgePlatform Specialist will contribute to developing a set of high quality, global standards of service for our clients; this involves a review of processes that are crucial to provide timely and effective support to clients. The role will require an ability to drive initiatives across functional teams, and to communication effectively to build a best-practice support network.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Improving the year on year retention rate by ensuring a high level of client experience and satisfaction.
- Detailed account planning, including engagement with all levels of client organization.
- Responsible for delivering client education and product training.
- Client Meetings (including facilitation of meetings with research, BMUs etc.).
- Be a subject matter expert on all aspects of the HP products and methodologies, and be able to answer detailed client inquiries.
- Become a Trusted Advisor by applying both product and client expertise to pro-actively identify solutions/product usage that create value for the client – hence contributing directly to up-selling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Work closely and communicate with HP client team in US.
- Understanding the HP process well – onboarding, legal, monthly processing, position modeling, proxy rules – with the ability to clearly disseminate allowable information to our clients.
- Ability to understand client needs in terms of onboarding, vehicles, functionality, and reporting so that these needs can clearly be communicated back to the firm.
- HF Prioritization – ensure client’s onboarding needs are well represented within the context of our entire list of funds to onboard.
- Attending weekly fund status meetings with HP Onboarding/Production Team to discuss progress.
- Implementations of new clients – this could include exposure modelling, reporting, and looking to engrain our tools in client’s process.
- Managing intra-month expectations surrounding fund delivery - organizing and leading fund status calls/updates with clients.
- Travel to all HP clients in EMEA.
- Focus on building standards of support for HP clients – define requirements for tools that will help create effective global backbone.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong team skills and emotional maturity, with proven ability for independent work and self-teaching. Successful candidate will be self-motivated.
- Superior communication and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects. Highly Organized.
- Degree in economics/ business/ finance. Statistics knowledge.
- Several years of working experience (preferably financial experience in hedge funds, risk management, custody/ securities business).
- Financial knowledge: familiarity with financial instruments, equities, fixed income, options, CDS. Familiarity with hedge fund strategies.
- Strong PC Skills a must. Ability to learn and work with in-house software. Proficient in Excel: should have working knowledge of vlookups, pivot tables.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- CFA, FRM or CAIA is a plus.
