Job Description Job Category: Services Consulting Location: Alexandria, VA, US Job ID: 787040-75650 Division: Services Support Microsoft Services has an immediate opening for a Consultant with an indepth knowledge of SharePoint, SQL, and Business Intelligence (BI) to analyze data input variables, drive data warehouse optimization, and develop business intelligence reporting for a designated set of US Military customers. This person will be responsible for delivering SharePoint and BI to US Army organizations in the US, primarily on the East coast. This person will be responsible for delivering services to the military leadership within the customers area of responsibility. The ideal candidate should have at least 3-5 years experience with Microsoft Enterprise products. The candidate should have extensive experience with SharePoint, Business Intelligence consulting engagements, data warehouse (Data CUBE) experience, and theoretical and practical experience with SSAS/SSRS/SSIS and Performance Point. A strong programming background is desirable. This candidate should possess a working knowledge of an ITIL (MSF/MOF) centric services discipline. The candidates primary focus will be to analyze data collection sources and recommend solutions and processes for rapid integration into the overall mission capability. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate and give examples of their ability to function and contribute to a team-oriented environment. Excellence in written documentation and public speaking is expected. Additional Responsibilities include: Coordinating activities with military leadership and other on-site vendors for success of overall military mission and to deliver ad-hoc technical training as necessary. Qualifications and Job Criteria: The candidate should possess a 4 year technical degree or equivalent work experience, plus at least 4 years Enterprise level experience 3 years experience (preferably in the Defense, Federal, or Fortune 500 customer space) in technical support or MIS in an Enterprise environment is required. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills required. Individual must be effective operating in politically charged, highly agile customer environments. Minimum 3 years experience conducting user-level and executive interviews, gathering requirements, and designing applications, reports, and databases. Also required are strong technical writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate with customer managers and executives on technical and business issues. Strong organizational, time management, project management, and negotiation skills are necessary. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and seek the initiative in their project tasks and activities. The position will require up to 75% travel.
