Senior Consultant
Optimization Manager is a senior marketing role also requiring an advanced technical skill-set. This position includes all of the following aspects:
- Manage customer expectations appropriately and keep projects on schedule and within scope.
- Must be able to manage a team to a set number of hours.
- Mentor Staff Consultants to develop their marketing, creative and technical skills.
- Must provide constructive criticism around wireframing, creative production, test setup, and customer communication skills.
- Gain an in-depth knowledge of a client's website architecture, online business model, and customer goals in order to craft a 6 month Optimization Strategy designed to drive positive ROI within 6 weeks.
- Must be comfortable generating and prioritizing test ideas so that tests are always running on a client's site.
- Lead day-long, face-to-face, brainstorming session with C-level executives on the marketing, technical and design sides of a client's business.
- Must be able to stimulate brainstorming, build consensus, and set realistic expectations while generating excitement.
- Quickly notice what needs to be changed with a customer's online business in order to drive positive ROI.
- Recommend testing ideas based on business/customer goals, analytics and best practices.
- Ready to change the course of the Optimization Roadmap at any moment based on additional data or internal client constraints.
- Analyze large and detailed, yet incomplete, data sets in order to make recommendations around follow-up tests.
- Analyze data from automated behavioral targeting engine in order to make recommendations around how to improve the algorithmic modeling.
- Build Optimization Plans using A/B testing, multivariate testing, segment-based targeting, behavioral targeting, SEM, display ad serving, and hosted pages/flows leveraging customer's APIs.
- Build detailed wireframes and manage their creative production in order to accomplish testing goals while adhering to customer's style guides.
- Manage a team ensuring creative is turned into test where all appropriate metrics are tracked properly.
- Manage analyst and development teams to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, ensure proper content display, validate data, and properly manipulate JavaScript, XHTML and CSS.
- Manage multiple projects, with multiple remote teams, at one time.
- Interact frequently with clients via phone, email, and in-person.
- Manage production of, and proofread, technical page-tagging strategies.
- Create and present results, learnings and recommendations from tests.
- Provide regular status updates and quickly escalate potential issues to Senior Director.
- Work with Senior Director and Account Executives to ensure client renewals.
- Experience presenting in front of large groups. Must be very comfortable in a client-facing role.
- 4+ years experience in online marketing, user experience, and/or user interface design.
- 4+ years creating wireframes and managing design comp creation.
- 2+ years crafting online marketing strategies across multiple industry verticals (retails, financial services, media, travel, lead generation, etc.).
- Management experience.
- You must have a passion for the web, online marketing and creating good user experiences.
- Experience running A/B, multivariate and behavioral targeting tests.
- Solid understanding of online marketing and web analytics.
- Solid understanding of client and server-side programming languages, database management and APIs.
- Intermediate JavaScript, CSS and XHTML.
- Embrace data and quantitative results - not afraid of basic statistics. You must love data.

- Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, be a team player, and manage change effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's degree required.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION GIVEN FOR:
- Previous experience working with the Omniture Suite of products (SiteCatalyst, TestTarget, etc.).
- Experience with observational customer research (listening labs, usability, eye tracking, etc.).
- Experience with Photoshop, PHP and/or ROR.
