Ernst Young Operational Transaction Services (OTS) advice and support clients in the pre- and post deal and restructuring environment by offering a range of operational services. Services include operational and IT due diligence, post merger integration, carve out/separation, and corporate restructuring projects. The team delivers buy side and sell side engagements for corporate firms and private equity houses across the transaction life-cycle. The work is executed in close cooperation with other EY services, such as financial due diligence, financial restructuring and other advisory solutions.

Due to the growing client demand for these services OTS is one of the fastest growing practices in Ernst Young and currently has 500 specialists worldwide.

As part of our ambitious growth plans EY OTS is looking for new colleagues for our Amsterdam team in the role of Senior Consultant.

Job profile

As Senior Consultant you are part of a highly professional team that is advising and supporting clients on the operational aspects of mergers and restructuring. You will be analyzing and providing operational input in due diligence projects, supporting post merger integration projects, assisting with the analysis and execution of carve-out projects and development of business plans.

Skills

General Skill requirements

· Completed university education, preferably in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, science, engineering, business or economics and supplemented
with a postgraduate degree (for example MBA, CPA, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt qualification)

· Four years or more relevant work experience (see technical skills requirement below)

· Comfortable with hypothesis-driven problem solving and quantitative analytical methods

· Robust personality and able to work with clients at senior management level (CEO, CFO, CIO, COO)

· Experience with mergers and acquisitions is definitely a plus

Technical skills requirements

Exposure to at least one the following:

A. Operations Management experience - ideally gained with companies in industrial/ consumer/high tech products, utilities, logistics, telecoms and/or energy. Functional experience will include manufacturing, service provision, supply chain, RD, sales and 'back office'

B. Professional services 'operational advisory' experience - either from within a management consultancy or as an 'internal consultant' within a corporate. Functional experience will include manufacturing, service provision, supply chain, RD, sales and 'back office'

The following should be considered as 'must have' attributes:

· Programme and project management expertise with demonstrable experience in managing and successful delivery

· Financial literacy: Grounding in principles of financial accounting (how to interpret financial statements including profit and loss statement, balance sheet and cash flow), managerial accounting (understanding of costing principles and systems) as well as finance (time value of money, discounted cash flow, capital budgeting etc.)

· Knowledge of modern methods to analyze operational efficiencies and effectiveness and to translate operational aspects into EBITDA figures

· Excellent verbal communication, writing, presentation and facilitation skills

· Flexible with working locations, the ability to learn quickly and leverage skills in new situations

Client responsibilities

· Work on client engagement teams executing Operational Transaction Services which support key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for transactions

· Be responsible for assessing the client's state of readiness with respect to people, resources, planning, data collection and strategy, while identifying high-risk areas, unidentified issues and areas for overall improvement

· Assist with the execution of the integration plan while working to constantly identify areas for improvement including resolving integration issues

· Be responsible for creating work products that document the engagement procedures performed against objectives

· Effectively participate on teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, while staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business. Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services

· Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel
