Senior Consultant - (Technical Design)

Salary Guide: To c £40,000 + Package
Our client, an international Design Innovation Consultancy have a vacancy for a talented senior consultant with strong project managent skills for technical products, such as medical equipment and devices, FMCG, consumer products and commercial equipment.
The successful candidate must be resourceful and intuitive; a creative, technical design engineer and inventive problem solver.
The Key Skills/Requirements are:
An engineering first degree and postgrad in Product Design with around 5 years+ experience, or a good Product Design Engineering first degree with 6 years+ experience.
Experience working either in industry or consultancy developing products or equipment, probably within the medical, commercial equipment or consumer appliance industries.
Demonstrable management experience of people, programmes, resource and design.
Successful track record of planning work and managing projects to time and budget constraints.
Well-grounded in engineering science theory and able to demonstrate the practical experience of having designed polymer structures, flexures and mechanisms, ideally motor-powered or mechatronics.
Ability to manage design from initial exploration and ideation through development and into manufacturable working solutions in a rapid and dynamic environment. Through their project work the candidate will be familiar with the process of customer-focussed product design and the team members involved in this.
Ability to motivate team members and be confident dealing with clients, suppliers and other technical experts.
Demonstrable experience of working within technical and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Proficient in CAD (ProE or Solidworks).

Reports to Principal of Engineering Design.
London based.
Occasional travel will be required.
