The Asbury Group – Integrated Technologies LLC (www.theasburygrp.com), located in Gaithersburg, MD, acts as the project development, project marketing, information technology, operations management consulting and financial strategy arm of Asbury Communities.  Over the past 15 years, we have developed and operated numerous communities and, in the process, established performance standards that exceed those of the Continuous Care Retirement Community industry.  We are currently seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer to join our Information Technology group. 

 

Key Functions of the Job:

Service Delivery:

o        Performance: Delivers professional IT services* to internal and external clients on schedule. *Professional IT Services includes, but is not limited to: Implementing equipment, hardware, and software installations and upgrades. Deploying LANs, WANs, and WLANs, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware. Installing and configuring storage devices and corresponding software. Gauging the effectiveness and efficiency of systems. Developing and implementing strategies for improving or leveraging systems.

o        Performance: Delivers professional IT services to internal and external clients with good quality.

o        Performance: Delivers professional IT services to internal and external clients with good documentation.

o        Professionalism: Maintains a positive level of professionalism with respect to attitude appearance.

o        Professionalism: Communicates clearly effectively.

o        Professionalism: Mentors others in a productive and professional manner at all times.

o        Billable Target: Meets assigned % billable target for the year.

o        Billable Target: Tracks time in time entry system for PTO and cost allocation.

o        Availability: Is available for support / escalation during business hours and responsive after hours.

o        Maintains monitors assigned internal systems for current capacity, performance, and expected growth.

Professional Growth Certification:

o        Continues professional development.

o        Maintains current certification in at least 2 partner programs (e.g.: VMware VCP, Microsoft MCITP, DataCore DCIE, ISC2 CISSP, Citrix CCA/CCEE, Quest vWorkspace, etc).

Standards Ethics:

o        Adheres to Asbury IT internal standards practices.

o        Adheres to The ’System Administrators’ Code of Ethics’ as published by LOPSA, USENIX, SAGE.

o        Maintains strict confidentiality of all sensitive information, transactions or activities, especially any payroll or other compensation-related data.

o        Provides assistance to the Director of Engineering with special assigned projects.

o        Performs general administrative duties, as required or directed by the Director of Engineering.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Solid project management skills.

·         Extensive experience with Active Directory.

·         Experience supporting IIS and .Net application architectures.

·         Working knowledge of clustered Exchange messaging environment.

·         Experience supporting Citrix or Provision Networks terminal services environments.

·         Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server database environment.

·         Familiarity with high-availability design (failover systems and data replication).

·         Proven experience in designing, developing and implementing software systems, applications, and related products.

·         Knowledge of change management systems.

·         Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.

·         Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, general network mgmt best practices.

·         Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.

·         Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network PC operating systems, incl VMWare ESX Server, MS Server ‘03 ‘08.

·         Excellent knowledge of SAN, DAS, RAID, SCSI, Fibre Channel, tape, clustering technologies from Datacore, HP .

·         Solid experience architecting enterprise storage, archival/backup, and DRP systems with a broad spectrum of storage technologies.

·         Deep technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including Cisco and HP gear.

·         Broad hands-on knowledge of disaster recovery planning and other industry standard techniques and practices.

·         Excellent hardware and operating system troubleshooting experience.

·         Excellent software troubleshooting experience.

 

Education Requirements:

 

·         College diploma in the field of computer science, info systems, or education, /or 5 years equivalent work experience.

·         Certification in any or all of the following are a plus: Microsoft (MCSE/MCITP), VMWare, Citrix, CISSP, ITIL
