Senior Contract Analyst, PPN (Medical Services Finance) Job in Harrisburg 17105, Pennsylvania US
Job Summary:
The basic purpose of this position is to initiate operational and financial changes in response to new/revised third-party contracts, to control system-generated contractual allowances in the Soarian Financial system, and to coordinate the use of Contract Management software within the System.
• Maintain expert knowledge of the Soarian Financials Contract Management system.
• Maintain working knowledge of Soarian Financials to ensure data integrity within the solution.
• Act as a liaison between Managed Care, Information Services, and Finance to ensure full utilization of Soarian Financials contract management by all users within the System.
• Be familiar with third-party contract terminology and concepts to be able to analyze data and contract performance, and inform management appropriately.
• Participate with the System’s contract negotiation team, either directly or in a supporting role.
• Design Contract Management reports to meet the needs of users and management in the PPN (Physician Practice Network), Finance and Managed Care areas.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma and a minimum five years of experience or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience
• Five years of experience in healthcare financial reporting/analysis, patient accounting, or reimbursement experience (preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of Soarian Financials and/or similarly related revenue cycle products
• Experience with reimbursement or third party contracts
• Willingness to take initiative in building a service-oriented department
• Ability to analyze and interpret third party contracts
• Analytical skills to quantify issues and report system activity
• Thorough understanding of third-party reimbursement and regulatory requirements
• Microsoft Office applications experience to include Excel, Access, Power Point, and Word
• Ability to teach and motivate other members of the department
• Plan and manage area of responsibility
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills to approach situations in an imaginative, innovative, interpretive, and analytical manner.
