Senior Contract Manager Job in Gentofte, Hovedstaden Denmark

Dong Energy wishes to strengthen their efforts with an experienced Senior Contract Manager for procurement and contract management of large-scale, offshore wind farms.

As Senior Contract Manager your key responsibilities will include heading the procurement and contract management activities in the offshore wind projects in the size of approximately 10 billion Danish kroner. The new generation of wind farms makes the position extremely exciting and challenging.

The department is responsible for strategic sourcing during the early project phases as well as procurement and contract management during the execution phase. The department plays a vital role in realising the company's significant growth strategy many years ahead.

You will be based at the office in Gentofte.

Areas of responsibility

As Senior Contract Manager you will head the start-to-end procurement of large-scale wind projects and be a member of the project management team.

Your key duties will be to:

•                    Plan and lead procurement, perform purchasing and negotiate at a high and complex level

•                    Develop procurement strategies for specific onshore and offshore wind projects

•                    Produce tender packages and manage tender activities from early project phases through to commissioning and handover to our operations department

•                    Negotiate with international contractors

•                    Ensure contract compliance with EU directives and our company's requirements for legal matters, insurance and QHSE matters

•                    Resolve complex claims during the execution phase and perform contract management tasks, including follow-up, variation and claims handling as well as reporting and coordination

Your profile

Ideally, you will have the following qualifications:

•                    A Bachelor's or a Master's Degree in Engineering or Commercial Law

•                    Relevant experience with procurement or contract management in relation to energy, process or construction projects, preferably during the contracting and execution phases

•                    Solid experience with heading the procurement of engineering projects and knowledge of procurement law, including EU directives or willingness to learn through training

•                    Extensive business and technical language skills and the ability to speak and write both Danish and English fluently

•                    Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to cooperate professionally with colleagues and partners at all organisational levels

•                    A proactive approach to problem solving in a cross-organisational role, where you will thrive on working in a technically complex area

•                    A structured and analytical approach to your work combined with excellent business acumen
