Senior Correspondent Commodities and Energy
The Paris bureau is looking for an experienced and versatile Senior Correspondent to run the commodities and energy team that produces insightful copy for both the international service and the French domestic service. The successful candidate will have a strong CE background and be at ease to report in both English and French. At Thomson Reuters, we deliver intelligent information quickly and efficiently, so professionals have knowledge to act. Day to day responsibilities :
- He/she will define and direct our coverage of key CE themes for our very specialised clients. There is never a lack of action in this team of some five reporters: from France's nuclear debate in the run up to the 2012 presidential elections to possible action by the Paris-based International Energy Agency on strategic oil reserves if an embargo on Iranian oil materialised, and from France's call for G20 members to better regulate agricultural-commodity markets to the government's move to keep genetically modified crops out of French fields.
- We are looking for someone who can coordinate coverage within the team and with the rest of the Paris bureau and other bureaus around the world. We also expect the candidate to break news and produce stand-back pieces such as Special Reports or Insights.
- The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and editor in English, but also have a proficiency in French to manage the French service members of the integrated CE team.
