Our requirements
Description: The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for the accounting of inventory at all North American locations, including inventory valuation, obsolescence, customer buyout agreements along with providing analysis for decision-making.
General Duties and Responsibilities
1. Monitor stock levels and plant to plant transfers.
2. Generate and verify monthly WIP and Consignment valuations.
3. Review material purchases for inconsistent unit of measures.
4. Calculate monthly inventory obsolescence reserves.
5. Reconcile inventory hub reports and inventory subledgers to SAP.
6. Oversee customer buyouts (sunsetting clauses).
7. Generate and distribute inventory reports including aging and scrap reports.
8. Assist external auditors with testing of inventory including cycle counts and cut off testing.
9. Calculate quarterly fixed inventory costs.
10. Coordinate with SAP personnel on implementation of new clients.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Minimum 4 years General Accounting experience with an emphasis on cost accounting and inventory control.
2. University degree in Business or Finance
3. Very good Accounting knowledge
4. Analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills
5. Systems and data management experience with EAP systems (SAP preferred)
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Organizational and planning skills, including ability to: prioritize work, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set goals and enforce deadlines, while maintaining flexibility to reassess and prioritize goals
8. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
9. Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
