Senior Counsel for Private Banking and Lending

Position Description

Successful applicant will be part of a legal team advising a national banking association and a U.S. broker-dealer. Specific duties will include: Advising senior management its officers on complex transactions and initiatives, managing and/or coordinating with other attorneys and legal personnel providing such advice.  Advising the business on legal matters relating to governance, compliance with relevant banking laws and regulations, and operations, on policies and procedures, products and services, marketing materials and disclosures related to complex matters and initiatives.*LI-KR

Skills Required

Fifteen (15+) years) experience as a practicing attorney in financial services, advising on general banking business in the wealth management area with focus on complex lending (real estate and non-real-estate; consumer and commercial) and related strategic initiatives, and opining on applicable laws and regulations associated with conducting business in a national bank with regard to real estate and other complex lending and sale transactions. Experience with all facets of the private banking and lending  business and in depth understanding of regulations including RESPA, , Regulation Z, Regulation W, Regulation Y, and other laws and regulations applicable to consumer and commercial banking and lending products strongly preferred. Private practice with top law firm and/or in-house legal experience advising clients on banking and lending business and initiatives, and experience in managing and leading a team and supporting cross-functional strategic projects desirable.
