Senior Counterparty Credit Risk Manager – Global Banking Giant recruitment

The Counterparty Credit Risk Manager will review and recommend credit relationships and limits for all Traditional Funds, Hedge Funds, Private Equity Funds and Family Offices throughout the Asia Pacific region and provide insight to Front Office businesses on product and risk best practices to ensure proper risk management. The jobholder will support Prime Services and be responsible from a Credit Risk perspective for the risk management aspects of the business and assist in setting the regional credit appetite for Funds in conjunction with senior management. The incumbent will be responsible for setting the credit terms and legal document credit covenants for trading all products, maintaining key client relationships with senior management of Funds with regular ongoing communication to ensure timely reporting of negative events. The Senior Counterparty Credit Risk Manager will maintain senior business relationships across all businesses and products, to ensure appropriate representation in all product and risk discussions pertaining to Funds. There will be responsibility for the portfolio risks across all funds in the portfolio and the incumbent will work with the Quantitative Risk to stress test the portfolio and assist with training HK Funds and Credit Risk Management staff in Fund counterparty credit risks, products, and legal risks, along with client and business interaction approaches. The incumbent will also assist in projects, presentations and papers touching on Fund Risk and work closely with the North American and European Funds teams to ensure a matching and global approach to Risk Management.

The successful candidate will be a degree holder with at least 5 years experience in a Counterparty Credit Risk Management position, ideally with a particular focus on Funds. Applicants will be required to demonstrate a solid understanding of financial products, the risks attached to them and a deep knowledge of counterparty risks for Funds. Candidates are required to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of the business, an ability to form effective relationships and influence people across all levels of the organisation. Applicants will need to possess strong analytical skills, the ability to lead change and have an ability to develop and retain talent and assist in building an effective leadership team.
