Senior Credit Analyst (German Speaking), Energy Trading, London

The Credit Risk Management Department is responsible for researching and analysing trading counterparties to determine appropriate levels of exposure; negotiating and structuring of credit support arrangements; and the monitoring and reporting of credit exposures and events.  The purpose of this role is provide a thorough analysis of counterparty credit risk for corporate companies, trading houses, producers, consumers and exchange based companies.  The geographical spread of counterparties is primarily focused on Central Europe but will also extend into Eastern Europe.

The successful candidate will be expected to support the Credit Manager and Head of Credit with the day-to-day management of the portfolio.  They will lead the credit due diligence and management of the organisation’s German and Northern European portfolio.  The Senior Credit Analyst is expected to ensure alignment between commercial operations and credit risk management strategy.  The incumbent will actively contribute to the cross functional risk management and control activities of the business.

They will need to work closely with the business to set credit limits and terms.  Knowledge of energy related documentation would be very beneficial; a base knowledge of the energy market would be advantageous.

Applicants must have prior credit analysis experience gained within a financial institution or commodities trading environment.  They will possess strong research and analysis skills and be able to speak German.
