Senior Credit Analyst, Munich recruitment
Opportunity to work on a small, tight-knight European investment team, which is part of a larger global investment team. Reporting to the Head of Credit Research in London, and working in close partnership with Munich based Senior Portfolio Manager, the Senior Credit Analyst provides primary credit research to support investment purchases as well as on-going portfolio monitoring and surveillance.
Primary functions involve analysing, monitoring and assessing the credit worthiness of asset-backed securities to be purchased or owned in State Street Global Treasury’s non-dollar portfolio. Day to day tasks involve:
- collecting, collating and analysing performance data at the cusip level;- documenting the creditworthiness of new purchases with written credit/security analysis, cash flow modelling, corporate credit analysis of seller/servicers and legal documentation analysis and review appropriate for the relative level of credit risk in the related security;
- monitoring industry fundamentals and technicals within sectors, notifying portfolio managers and risk managers of changes which may lead to credit or trading losses; and- liaison with investment managers to leverage experience and assist them with their investment process through bond analysis and research.
A key responsibility for this position includes communication and developing relationships with members of the company’s internal risk departments to maintain an efficient and effective investment operation. This will require a thorough understanding of the investment portfolio functions as well as all internal and external rules, regulations, guidelines and constraints.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Experienced credit analyst with extensive proven experience in fixed income, asset-backed securities
• Highly numerate with experience of working with large volumes of financial data
• Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and in a high-pressure environment
• Undergraduate degree, preferably masters and/or CFA.
