Senior Credit Analyst/Alpha Generator recruitment
BlackRock's Fixed Income team manages more than $1 trillion in global fixed income assets across index, active long-only, alternative, and liability driven strategies. The platform offers fixed income investors one of the industry's broadest arrays of investment choices across model-based and fundamental investment styles.
The Leveraged Finance team is seeking an Event-Driven Senior Research Analyst that will support the High Yield team on its investment activities in New York City.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and make fundamentally-driven trade recommendations on a range of companies and event-driven situations.
- Provide both absolute and relative value trade ideas on loans, bonds, converts and equities.
- Effectively work with leveraged finance sector analysts on deeper-dive opportunities.
- Run corporate restructuring processes while maximizing value for existing positions as well as creating new investment opportunities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Candidates should have a top school undergraduate degree and/or MBA. CFA is a plus.
- 7+ years' experience in a similar role focusing on credit markets. Distressed / Even driven experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to look up and down a capital structure and identify best risk/reward trade opportunities.
- Ability to model companies efficiently and effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of corporate finance and leveraged finance (products, participants).
- Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team-driven environment.
- Enthusiastic and positive approach to market challenges.
- Strong intellectual capacity and analytical mindset.
- Well organized, disciplined approach to work with a high level of attention to detail.
- Highly computer literate, with advanced spreadsheet based skills.
- Strong work ethic with high level of self-motivation.
