Senior Credit Derivatives Developer, VP Level recruitment
The candidate will face the business sponsors and drive the transformation of the platform to deliver their agenda. The build-out of the credit flow business is a very high profile project with requirement for strong drive and commitment in a focused, self contained team.
This person must be a highly talented and driven technologist who has a track record of delivering outstanding solutions in an investment bank or other fast-paced industry where first class solutions are the norm.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements
- Deliver business functionality on the platform (booking service, data structures, downstream).
- Partner with Technology and Operations groups during Onboarding of flow business.
- Ensure solutions conform to best practice design principals and meet capacity and resilience as well as functional requirements.
- Agree test strategy and co-ordinate test execution with business users.
- Take ownership for resolution of any production issues post implementation.
- Liaise with global Project Managers on end-to-end delivery.
- Report progress to senior management. Good communication skills will be paramount.
Essential skills required
- Typically 5-10 years hands-on experience and expert on Java server side.
- Track record of working on distributed systems and service-oriented architecture with complex system interactions.
- Experience working in a large scale complex end to end trading platform.
- Strong understanding of credit derivatives economics (CDS, index swaps) and end to end processing (credit events, novations, allocations, successor events...)
- Strong experience on Java messaging FIX / FPML
- Relational database experience and SQL.
- Experience of JMS and AMQ
- Strong skills on OO design patterns
- Strong communication and team-working skills.
- Computer science background with an intellectual rigour.
- Proven track record of ownership and delivery.
Desirable skills
- Credit Derivatives product knowledge: flow, exotics hybrids.
- Experience and working knowledge of JUnit, Maven, Tomcat, C#.
- Agile development techniques
Education
- To degree level, ideally in a computer science, mathematical or engineering discipline
