Senior Credit Officer – Corporate Banking recruitment
The main responsibility of this role is to approve, review and maintain the quality of individual credits and the Corporate Credit portfolio. Also to ensure compliance with the banks credit risk policies and procedures and credit underwriting within prudent risk parameters and the bank's risk appetite and the overall portfolio strategy. To minimise problematic accounts and losses to the bank through early identification and timely remedial actions. Other key responsibilities include:
- formulate and lead the implementation of the Corporate Credit strategy in line with the bank's vision, mission and corporate objectives.
- ensure that the departmental policies are developed, reviewed, updated and maintained to align the operational activities to the bank's policies and risks are mitigated whilst delivering a high quality of service to customers.
- review and approve credit applications submitted by the Credit Analysis Manager and Corporate Banking Group, meeting with new or large clients where necessary.
- contribute - in conjunction with the COO - to all the development of portfolio MIS and metrics in order to manage the bank's credit portfolio more effectively.
- lead the periodic review of the local loan portfolio risk rating in order to raise any concerns.
- act as a consultant to relationship managers in corporate banking in order to advise them on all matters pertaining to credit proposals, financials, presentation and customer history.
- This position will sit on the executive cresdit committee.
Skills / experience required:
- post graduate degree in Finance or Business.
- credit risk management certification would be highly advantageous.
- 10-15 years relevant experience, 5 years of which in a managerial position.
- Candidates that have worked for Citibank, HSBC or JP Morgan during their career will be highly favoured.
- International experience is essential, regional experience would be advantageous.
- in depth knowledge of the banking industry, credit function and state and country regulatory guidlines.
