Senior Credit Officer recruitment
Purpose of the role
The Senior Credit Officer will manage the overall policy and governance of the company’s credit risk program.
Applying industry best practices and credit risk methodologies, the SCO will establish and sustain a program to manage the risk exposure the company faces in new and existing business relationships. The SCO will be the senior approving authority within the credit team. Review merchant changes in activities, review requested adjustments to ensure that there is not an unlimited risk/exposure and/or a potential liability claim for Global Collect and change the approval conditions accordingly.
Determine the merchant risk exposure and current deposit levels periodically based on the risk grade on an ongoing basis. Establish revised risk classification criteria to prioritize the need for ongoing monitoring and adjustments to underwriting requirements. Approve credit sanctioning for established relationships, and take action in response to changes in the risk environment and the company’s risk appetite. Ensure the company’s commercial appetite is aligned to the organization’s risk appetite, while ensuring the merchant propositions are commercially viable.
Advise the Chief Credit and Risk Officer in maintaining and improving current risk classification policy, which enables Global Collect to tune the risk/exposure of a merchant with the required deposit levels (vice versa).
The Senior Credit Officer is the policy and governance point of contact for the Credit Risk Team and Monitoring Team; the SCO will work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer in defining credit policy and aligning this to the company’s commercial strategy.
