Senior Credit Risk Analyst

This employer is a very highly respected force in finance in APAC and is well known for its ongoing support for a broad range of industry sectors. Due to reorganization a position has been created for a senior credit risk analyst to join the Sydney office. The team has responsibility for utilities, social infrastructure and healthcare giving a person in that team a wide range of clients that have diverse financing needs. The types of facilities in this portfolio include senior debt, project finance and PPP, giving a person a variety of different types of structures to work on. The combination of sectors and product will provide an interesting and varied work flow.

We are looking for an individual who will have already spent five or more years working in an institutional credit environment, who is keen to develop their skills outside the normal brief of a credit analyst, this team plays a crucial in the initial structuring of deals across its territory, significant client interaction and some portfolio management duties. The position will appeal to a person who would like to play a greater part in approving transactions as you will be given approval authority and considerable deal management responsibilities.

To be a contender for this position should offer the following:

• A background in institutional credit over 5 or more years, if you have exposure to project finance or PPP transactions that would be well received. Utilities/power experience would be useful but other industrial experience will be favourably viewed.

• A willingness to take on the responsibility that goes with credit approval

• First class communication skills, the ability to put forward a strong business case and the ability to work with other internal groups for good outcomes.

• A highly investigative style of analysis and the ability to work through difficult/complex proposals .

A reasonable work life balance is achievable the vast majority of the time, the firm does resource teams appropriately. A good base salary and bonus system is in place.
