- Strong cross-domain information security knowledge including GRC, security policy and technical solutions, with specialization in two or more areas.
- Strong knowledge of technical security controls and trends in the industry including varied delivery models (on-premise, hosted, cloud).
- Solid understanding of, and experience with, enterprise scale integrated IT security solutions such as those involving: multi-site implementation, LAN/WAN/Security interoperatbility, dynamic routing protocols, failover and high availability systems.
- Network security infrastructure (e.g. Firewall, VPN, Network IPS, Web proxy, Email, DLP, AAA) design and architecture
- Endpoint security (e.g. AV, HIPS, Firewall, encryption, DLP, etc) design and architecture
- Exposure to security analytics and reporting solutions including log management or SIEM.
- Possess one or more of the following vendor certifications (presales or technical): RSA, Mcafee, Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Symantec, Arcsight
- Industry certifications are an asset:
- CISA/CISM/CISSP
- SANS/GIAC
- Other industry recognized Information Security certifications
- Ability to quickly uncover and understand business requirements through a consultative process.
- Ability to understand and represent a broad range of security solutions and delivery models, making appropriate technical recommendations to sales teams and customers
- Self-motivated and accountable for technical presales solutions. Navigates ambiguity, clearly communicates risks, anticipates issues, seeks clarification and sets clear expectations with stakeholders.
- Committed to continuous improvement both personally and organizationally; to develop, maintain, enhance and evolve technical security knowledge and processes.
- Minimum 5 years presales engineer experience in telecommunications, IT and/or information security.
- Experience with RFP responses, proposal development and statements of work.
- Specialty experience in minimum two of the technical security domains identified in the Required Knowledge section.
- Experience, understanding and a working knowledge of a variety of security related standards, guidelines and best practices.
