Senior Data Analyst – Investment Management recruitment
Our client is recruiting a Senior Data Analyst within the Data Management team. Data Management is the operational backbone of the organisation servicing the needs of their customers and external service providers.
Currently our client is implementing a number of new strategic systems and the successful candidate will initially be responsible for establishing the Data Management processes and procedures necessary for the successful implementation of a new order management system and associated internal systems. This will include defining procedures for the maintenance of reference data, implementing data quality checking processes and agreeing an appropriate Data Management support model for the Investment Management teams using the new system.
The successful candidate will also be assisting the project team through the final stages of the implementation and transitioning the role into a “BAU” as required to support the Investment Management teams. The CRD Data Analyst will also be expected to continually review and improve the team’s operations to maximise efficiency, reduce risk and improve service. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Establishing the daily, weekly and monthly Data Management CRD activities and processes required to support Charles River IMS. Ensure that these are managed and organized to optimal levels, minimizing both operational and financial risk and exceeding service level expectations for the organisation.
- Act as an escalation or contact point for key stakeholders at all levels
- Provide strong management to the team, which should include and element of coaching and guidance
- Proactively collaborate with and support existing Data Management colleagues across multiple offices in Europe and Asia
- Work closely with the technology teams delivering the system data solutions
- Minimise all areas of financial risk and exposure arising from data management
- Develop and monitor management reports and metrics to ensure operation is functioning effectively. Respond to operating issues as they are presented and escalate if appropriate.
- Continually review operational procedures to identify areas of process improvement, risk reduction and ensure that the team adheres to them
- Build and maintain relationships with both internal departments and external vendors
- Undertake a variety of Data Management projects, support and participate in cross-departmental projects
You will need to be able to demonstrate experience and skills in the following:
- Technical expertise – knowledge of Order Management Systems such as the Charles River IMS with particular exposure to the data aspects
- Understanding of the data requirements for the accurate creation / maintenance of security types including CDS’s, IRS’s, short term money market instruments, derivatives and corporate / government debt
- An understanding of the requirements for data workflows and the process to support data management activities across multiple offices and requirements
- Experience of data quality management
- Good technical skills and in depth knowledge of, and experience of working with, investment management with detailed understanding of the Asset Management Industry and business process change.
- Proven experience of the ability to communicate and work with all levels of personnel
- Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements within an operational area
- Experience of managing and motivating a small team and people outside of the team
- A proven ability to prioritise and organise both own time and that of a team
Given the nature of this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will have a track record of managing and developing people and be a self-starter/ motivator.
