Senior Data Analyst, VP recruitment
Responsibilities
- To establish an inventory of all key Financial and Management Reports currently produced by Divisional and Group Finance teams as defined by the scope of the Change the Bank Data strategy and approach paper, including Performance Cost Management, Financial Markets MI, Group IFRS reporting consolidation.
- To analyse and document all data elements currently required to produce the above said financial and management reports, including critical data elements required as part of the month-end GL close process.
- To identify and document all the data sources and the associated processes required to support the current Reports including assessment of criticality, priority and frequency, and manual processes supporting these activities.
- To understand the strategic Finance Target Operating and Data model and align data requirements to arrive at a common strategic finance data architecture and roadmap.
- To work with reporting workstream leads to “deduplicate” data requirements, and plan viable migration plans towards a common data architecture.
- To support Head Finance data standards PM Data Strategy to establish the Finance Data strategy, standards, key design principles and guidelines to support the rest of the Change the Bank initiatives.
- To maintain Finance Data Repository initially prior to BAU transition.
Essential
• Understanding of Financial, Market and Credit Risk data infrastructure and models, its use and maintenance as pertaining to the Financial Services Industry, or
• Understanding of Global Markets Financial reporting data requirements and manual adjustment processes for key countries from an end to end perspective from countries to Overseas shared service centre support processes.
• Ability to decompose critical data attributes, reporting dimensions and hierarchies from multiple financial and management reporting.
• Ability to reconstruct a unique set of core data attributes, dimensions and hierarchies as part of the development of a strategic logical data model and architecture for finance.
• Must have prior experience in data profiling, analysis, and user acceptance testing and BAU management of data infrastructure.
• Delivery of high quality work, in a limited amount of time.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills.
• High levels of drive and self motivation.
• Pragmatic approach to achieving the objectives set, able to flex an approach as needed.
• Track record of working in a very organised way, multi-tasking, prioritising, managing data, and setting and achieving deadlines (both short and long term).
• Capacity to think creatively and laterally; excellent reasoning skills and the ability to make sound judgments.
Desirable
• Experience in enterprise datawarehouse implementation, in a role that is related to data architecture, data lineage/metadata maintenance, or data quality management.
• In-depth knowledge in product properties, transactions life cycles, operational processes and their general ledger implications.
• Practical experience in process design or process re-engineering initiatives.
• Strong team player, but also able to work independently.
• Good working knowledge in MS Visio and Project.
• Core Financial management reporting knowledge and sound knowledge of financial controls and processes.
