Senior Database Architect, Top Tier Investment Bank recruitment
Database Architect required by a top tier Investment Bank. This is a hands-on role which requires a talented Database Architect who can demonstrate the credibility to be given responsibility for the database architecture of a large set of the Investment Bank's applications.
From a technical perspective Database Architects will be considered from any RDBMS background. The applications associated with the role are predominantly Oracle based but Database Architects who also have experience with other databases such as SQL Server and Sybase and can demonstrate their technical flexibility will also be considered, as the key characteristics of the successful candidate will be those concerning his/her ability to deliver business aligned, cost-effective database solutions regardless of the platforms involved.
As the main Database Architect for this area, good communication skills are essential and you must have proven experience in a role with similar gravitas which requires you to work closely with the business, internal delivery teams and outsourcing partners and to commit to technical decisions over functionality, methodology and hardware. Experience managing vendors both onshore and offshore is highly desirable.
Ideally the Database Architect will have come from another top tier Investment Bank, although candidates from any business area will be considered. This is a challenging role for a Database Architect who is enthusiastic about making technology work for the business and taking ownership of applications fundamental to the bank’s competitive edge.
