We are seeking a high calibre individual with a strong database background. Your Job:
In this role, you will work on numerous large scale, high volume (some transactional oriented) databases, both as a SQL Developer Senior DBA, in both capacities enhancing and supporting existing systems while also developing new procedures and working practices (including training operational staff).
You will be responsible for T-SQL development, stored procedures, triggers, functions, SQL code optimisations, reporting, database / table creations, performance tuning, SQL Server implementations and configurations, replications, conversion to newer versions of SQL Server alongside our IT resource, capacity planning and support. In addition, you will have production support responsibilities related to all aspects of database support for our clients.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
· Positive attitude and flexible mindset
· Advanced skills Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and 2005
· Experience optimizing SQL Server stored procedures
· Experience with enterprise IT practices such as change management, release management, and configuration management
· Experience working amongst application developers
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Good verbal and written communication skills
Problem solving skills is essential alongside enthusiasm. As part of a dynamic team this role will be diverse and engaging. Knowledge of the following industry sectors would be an advantage but not essential:
Charities, Catalogues, international mailers.
Also knowledge of legacy systems and Oracle would be considered advantageous.
