Working closely with members of Money Market team to price, negotiate and execute short-term wholesale markets funding programs in line with or better than spread guidance provided from time to time.
Liquidity management, profitable redeployment, introducing new clients, pricing short term interest rate products deep understanding of local and major international financial markets along with working knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks are integral part of the role.
Reviews time deposits available and seizes opportunities available for MM trading.
Identifies daily position and checks with main branches to continuously track cashflow flow to identify funds available for trading.
Monitors the US$/AED spot and forward quotes on the inter bank markets to ascertain best options for dealing opportunities. Makes quick decisive decisions regarding the deals available and initiates.
Updates the ADCB page rates on the Reuters Bloomberg system twice daily to facilitate trading of the AED book.
Calls brokers Gulf wide on a regular basis on pricing quotes and issues for trading purposes.
Maintains a daily chart on positions with the Central Bank monitoring the position of the Bank identifying trends and any resulting issues.
Squares The Bank’s position with the Central Bank at the end of all reserve maintenance periods following established procedures
Train junior members on the desk in order to fully develop their potential
