Senior Dealer, Money Markets recruitment

The main responsibility of this role is to manage the liquidity and meet the obligations of the Bank. Utilise all surplus monies to the maximum potential benefit of the bank. Directs trading on a day to day basis. Acts as the funding arm of the Bank.  Maintains the profitability of the Bank. Works with corporate, government and quasi government departments and HNW individual clients on the management of large deposits including institutional Murabaha, Wakala and SBLC Structured commodity murabaha deposits. Key responsibilities include:

- Directs and manages the Bank’s liquidity to meet the obligations of the Bank with a focus on profitability and liquidity..

- On a daily basis ascertains daily positions of the Bank on opening of trading.   Liaises with staff on their requirements and where necessary, offers assistance to meet the requirements. Evaluates maturities position and contracts for renewal. 

- Ensures liquidity is available at all times to meet the Bank’s ongoing obligations.

- Liaises on the bank’s behalf with a wide range of corporate and government clients to maintain high visibility and maximise on investments in the Bank.

- Undertakes daily lending in the inter bank markets both internationally and locally.. 

- Ensures adequate credit limits are available in the event of an emergency.

- Constantly searches for new business with the Bank’s liquidity.

- Ensures a maximum differential is maintained between lending and borrowing rates for the Bank.

- Acts as a primary point of contact for designated Treasury clients corporate/ government. 

- Undertakes the development of Nationals in the Bank as directed.

Skills / experience required:

- A degree in Commerce or an analytical subject which lends itself to a high level of analysis - an MBA would be preferable.

- Proven track record of dealing with a large amount of funds locally in the UAE and internationally.

- 5-8 years relevant experience, including 3 years of a senior dealing position dealing in liquidity positions of a major bank.

- A clear understanding of the workings of an international dealing system such as Bloomberg and Reuters.
