Senior Delivery Manager, Banking, Permanent, Zurich recruitment

Your responsibilities:

• Manage and ensure delivery and milestones throughout the lifecycle for non flow IT streams under your responsibility
• Develop and/ or review estimates and estimating assumptions for a project’s schedule, effort, and cost using estimating models and past experience. The resulting estimates account for all activities in the project scope, including Project Management, Analysis, Design, and Quality Assurance reviews and roll-out activities
• Define the change iterations strategy.

• Ensure that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected stakeholders
• Define team member roles and expectations. Ensure that project resources receive any necessary training and are used effectively
• Review, and be responsible for, the overall development and integration of requirements
• Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations. Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks. Make adjustments as necessary and agreed on with Program Manager, Design Authority, and Change Board
• Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
• Manage relationships with all suppliers and subcontractors.
• Represent the team at stakeholder meetings.

To be considered for this role you must have the following skills / experience: 

• Higher level degree in the field of software engineering
• 2-5 years relevant IT experience as developer or technical analyst followed by at least 5 years project management experience
• Ability to build trust and mutual respect with other business units and top executives
• Ability to identify, clarify, and resolve issues and risks, escalating them as needed
• Ability to effectively collaborate across systems and work streams
• Ability to build and lead a team effectively
• Ability to develop project team members (e.g., skills, career, etc.) and conduct performance reviews
• Ability to review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards
• Demonstrates energy and effort, consistently strives for excellence and overcoming barriers
• Past experience in the financial industry is advantageous
• Outsourcing experience and agile development methodologies is advantageous
• English is mandatory, German is nice to have
