Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Responsibilities:

·          Perform engineering tasks in the development of new products and cost reductions.

·          Create detailed designs, solid models and prints.

·          Organize bill of materials and cost roll ups.

·          Define and lead prototype development and field testing.

·          Work with manufacturing on fixture design and process development.

·          Manage projects to meet cost and schedule targets.

·          Perform competitive analysis and produce supporting documentation for engineering, sales and marketing.

·          Interface with vendors, manufacturing facilities and various internal groups to resolve design and manufacturability issues of new and existing products.

·          Verify compliance of applicable safety regulations.

·          Work effectively in a team environment.

Candidate Skills:

·          Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

·          A minimum of 5-7 years of engineering experience.

·          Proficient use of SolidWorks CAD system and Microsoft Office programs.

·          Must be able to demonstrate organization and leadership of multiple projects.

·          Strong knowledge of manufacturing, quality control processes and standards preferred.

·          Strong engineering skills and ability to interact with all engineering disciplines.

·          Excellent communication skill both in written and oral.

·          Sheet metal design experience preferred.

·          Hands on approach strongly encouraged.
