SEnior Design Engineers – Power Geberation/Marine Propulsion Job in Near Newcastle, Tyne
Job Description:
Due to increasing workloads this technology development company require 2 senior design engineers to lead systems design from initial project specification to client handover for both marine electrical propulsion and power generation projects utilising turbogenerator technology. The work will cover the full systems design lifecycle and will involve:-
- Carry out a full range of systems design activities in the development of large an complex electrical machine and power electronic projects
- Conduct technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options. Prepare reports with recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.
- Delivery of robust solutions to support an evolving product range. Work with customers, in-house engineering teams and suppliers to lead and prepare a full range of specifications
- Working effectively in a multi-disciplined, multi-national team. Provide effective support to customers, delivering solutions to meet the customer's needs and requirements plus the programme plan.
You will be degree qualified and have a track record and experience in the systems design of complex projects eithier within power generation (including high power electronics and electrical machine designs) OR within marine electrical propulsion systems (incorprating highs speed motors, drives etc.). Your systems design skills will cover initial requirements specifications, through to detailed systems design and client handover/commissioning.
